It is with deep sadness that I share the loss of one of Christian Authors on Tour's founding members, Sharon Moore Stenhouse. Sharon was like a big sister and mother all rolled up in one - always willing to offer a word of advice and lend her expertise.

A reader, writer, artist, performer and publisher - Sharon was the owner of a'Kihoro Spiritual Creations Publishing, a company that helped new authors with manuscript pagination, book covers, publication design, marketing and promotion. She also published a monthly electronic magazine titled, The Village Griot Ezine. The author of several books, Sharon was a former member of the Black Writer's Guild of Maryland and the 2OO8 - 2OO9 Voices of Thanksgiving: Christian Authors on Tour.

CAOT was so blessed to have Sharon as a part of our author family. She was influential in helping us market our first cruise/conference and to raise awareness about our efforts. Sharon, a woman of grace and substance, was also a breast cancer warrior. We will miss her spirit, but we will always remember her light!

And we can still hear her voice sharing her signature poem, TODAY! Let us rejoice that she is singing with the angels and resting in the Lord!

A MESSAGE from Sharon's daughter, Carmen Jones:

"Hello to all. My name is Carmen Jones and I am Sharon Stenhouse's daughter. As most of you already know my mother lost her battle with lung cancer on February 4th of this year. I want to thank you all so much for all of your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. My mother's online ministry was incredibly important to her as was her faith.

I want to let you know that I have chosen not to have any funeral services for my mother. My mom used to tell people that funerals were for the living. All of the pomp and circumstance involved in a "going home" ceremony are for those still here on earth. As I thought things through I realized just how right my mom was.

Amani na Mapenzi means peace and love and that's what my mother wanted to share with the world. That being said, if you choose to honor my mother at all, please do so by any of the following below.

a contribution in her name to the Benjamin Banneker Museum here in Baltimore;

a contribution to the St James Outreach Program at St James Episcopal Church (my mother was a member);

purchasing a copy of Juasha's Shroud (her one and only published novel)"
